Donate Blood
The Donor Mobile was at Nelson Bay RSL last week collecting much needed blood donations. Over the three days a total of 145 people donated which is a great community achievement. The donor mobile will be back in December and we urge everyone to assist as they need 21,000 donations a week to meet hospital demands. For appointments or general information call 13 14 95 or visit http://www.donateblood.com.au. Thank you to all those who donated.
Little Black Dress
Nelson Bay RSL hosted the ‘Little Black Dress’ Cocktail Party last Friday 19th October, with over 100 local ladies dressing up for a girls night out in order to raise funds for the Tomaree Breast Cancer Support Group. The function proved to be a great success raising over $1000 for the local organisation. The night included a Fashion Parade, Display stalls, Raffle and some inspiring and informative speeches. The event was a template for next year with the aim to triple funds raised and move the function into the new Auditorium.
Skills for Success
Nelson Bay RSL are major sponsors of the Port Stephens Real Futures program “Skills for Success”, donating $5000 towards their series of workshops held 4 times per year. These workshops are aimed towards providing employability skills to year 10 students from Tomaree High and St Philips Christian College.
